I love to throw a good party and celebrating milestone birthdays is a great excuse to do just that! I had a party for my 30th. At that time I was in my residency in Pittsburgh, married with one daughter. Fast forward 10 years to a bigger bash for 40! I was then a mom of two, and I had been working in my current practice for about 5 years. I was able to share a great night with family and friends.
I debated whether or not I would feel like having another party for 50. For a while I thought about having a party at 45 and calling it "the party I will not be having when I turn 50". I somehow felt like that milestone would be a little harder to embrace. Now that I am less than a year away from it, I am thoroughly embracing it and super excited to have the biggest bash yet. Here's hoping the pandemic will be a non-issue by the time May of 2021 roles around, but it's hard to know. If it's not possible, I guess I will postpone a year and have the party then... at 51...calling it "the party I wanted to have at 50 but a little something called covid 19 got in the way".🤨
