March 8...Happy International Women's Day! This is a day to celebrate and recognize all women across the globe and their accomplishments. The scope of what women can do is limitless and this day should be especially motivating and inspirational to working moms everywhere.
This day began in 1911 and recognizes the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women all over the world. It it also intended to be a call to action for gender equality.
The theme for 2021 is #choose to challenge. The hope is to inspire people to challenge biases and stereotypes which exist regarding gender. Even in a world where so many women are professionals and the breadwinners in their households, it is crazy to know that gender stereotypes still exist. I see this firsthand as a female who works in a very male dominated field. I have told my story about this in a prior " Motivation Monday" post, so if you didn't see that one before, please check it out. I never let it discourage me and ultimately became very successful in my field gaining the support and respect of all my male counterparts along the way.
There are so many strong, inspiring women in this world with all kinds of amazing stories. We should always follow our dreams, challenge ourselves, support each other and show our daughters that anything is possible! "Strong women...may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them!💪🏼💗
