First of all, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Celebrations were likely smaller than usual for a lot of people, but based on all the posts I saw on social media, many embraced the idea of a more intimate dinner with immediate family and still managed to enjoy and feel thankful.
So now we move on to a day of leftovers, Black Friday shopping, Christmas decorating, and hopefully some relaxation. For some, however, it's right back to work. For the past several years, I have gone back to work on Friday. It is one of my surgery days and often a very busy one for me. This year I opted to take off since both of my daughters are home from college, and I'm so glad I did!
For our "fun Friday" we will decorate for Christmas. We have often done it the weekend after Thanksgiving, but we have also been guilty of waiting until just a couple of weeks before Christmas. We did not jump on the decorate before Thanksgiving band wagon, which I saw a lot of this year, but since I am off, we decided today is the day! It can be a lot of work (you can see all the stuff in our storage room above) but also a lot of fun. The kids always enjoy trimming the tree, so we put Christmas music on and start to get into the spirit. It is a great accomplishment when we are done, and the house always feels a bit more warm and cozy.

If you don't celebrate Christmas or if decorating is not your "Fun Friday"activity, then you might be headed out to a mall or just on to your computer for some great shopping. We have done the mall on this day a few times, but I must admit I am more of the "Cyber Monday" type. Of course this year we are already much more in the "cyber" mode anyway, and many Black Friday deals have been made into extended on line events. So whatever your Friday after Thanksgiving looks like, I hope it's fun. I think these two activities can be great options! 💚❤️
