Is there a right way? Is there a wrong way? Where does my way fit in? As a parent, specifically a working mom, these questions may be asked on a daily basis. You may ask them of yourself or to others. You may look to those who have been where you are and see if you can learn from their experiences. Without a doubt, we can educate each other, but there are so many differences among us, that we should never be made to feel bad for taking an alternate route or doing what we think feels right. Moms who insist their way is the only way can be quick to judge someone else merely because what she does is different. Do not let yourself fall into the trap of trying to be like everyone else. Each situation and family dynamic is different.
If you want to order take-out three nights in a row, because you didn't have time to cook and the idea of "meal prep" the weekend leading into this busy week was completely foreign to you...it's okay. The mom who insists her children have nothing other than a completely nutritious, home-cooked meal every night may not approve, but she probably also did not have your schedule for that week.
This is one example, but we have all been around other parents, friends, or acquaintances who feel the need to comment on things you are doing or not doing with or for your children. People will gladly dole out parenting advice whether you want it or not. The advice giver may or may not be "qualified" to do so. The bottom line is no matter how wonderful your kids are, people will find ways to criticize. Of course there can also be praise, but I think the most important thing is to feel like you always did what you felt was best for your kids. If it was something non-traditional, there may be doubters, but if it works for you that's all that matters! My advice, if you choose to take it... Just do it...your way!💪🏼
