Christmas morning 2015 will not soon be forgotten. It was the day my then 15 and 13 year old daughters received the most sought after tickets on Broadway...Hamilton! (the tickets were for me and my parents too😉) My older daughter learned of the show which was just starting to gain fame after being an off Broadway production for nearly a year. She became a fan of the soundtrack and then shared it with her sister. Before too long, I realized they were listening to it non-stop, and the show was evolving into the blockbuster it still is today. It became a ticket that was nearly impossible to get, and the cast became more famous by the hour. The kids asked for tickets for Christmas, and it was one of the best gifts ever...for the whole family!

We went to see the show in February of 2016 and it was truly amazing. We were able to see it with the original cast which was such a phenomenal experience. We all became obsessed with it and the soundtrack. We are big fans of Broadway and live entertainment in my family, and we  have seen many shows, but this was extremely unique and so special. My girls enjoyed "stage dooring" (it became a verb for us), and we had the great fortune to meet several members of the cast including the creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda. We even had a little party at home for the Tony awards that year when Hamilton had 16 nominations and took home 11 awards...so well deserved!

We did see the show again a few years later with a travel company in Boston. It was amazing that time as well, but we will always remember how fortunate we were to see it early on and watch it explode into the huge phenomenon it became with shows sold out for months and months.

As I get ready to publish this on New Year's Eve of this incredibly challenging year which saw Broadway go dark for 9 months so far, amid countless other losses,  I sincerely hope we will be able to resume these wonderful events at some point next year. So when the opportunity arises, I highly recommend this show or any other form of entertainment you have missed out on this year. Happy New Year to all with much hope for better days ahead in 2021!🥂❤️
